About £21,000 but this can be increase if we have a pay rise or a bonus.
To get an increase, I would need to do a ‘boarding’ which is like a promotion and involves putting together a pack about the work I’m doing but at a higher level and then being interviewed by a panel.

My salary increases every year of my apprenticeship. I started on 18k and will finish with around 32k or more depending on my performance.
A lot of the time salary is down to managers discretion but the engineering field usually has a good salary range and there is always room to progress.

I started my graduate scheme on just over £26,000, and it will be just over £30,000 by the end of the two years (I am half way through). There is always space to go higher as well. It is a good starting wage!

As a PhD student, I started on £14,000 per year which is lower than most jobs, but it is tax free and you can earn some extra money through teaching. When this is included, it’s more like £19,000 per year which is about the same as £22,000 per year in a job where you have to pay tax.

I earn approx £35,000 per year, which rises annually based on my performance and the performance of my team. To get to this level I started as an apprentice on approx £12,000 per year, but through getting additional qualifications and experience, I have worked my way up through the levels to reach my current role.
