I studied an integrated masters course (MEng) in Chemical Engineering. You can choose between a 3 year course (BEng) or a 4 year course (MEng). I chose the 4 year course because it means you can become a chartered engineer sooner, without having to do extra exams. A chartered engineer is a way of recognising that you are a good engineer and is a useful qualification to have!

I didn’t go to university. Instead of I was taken on directly by the company and did their internal courses instead these included courses about the jet engine, personal development and software packages. I did however, did a foundation course in mathematics.

I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering, but to HNC level, not the full BEng. I have since completed many additional courses specific to military aviation and have become registered as an Incoporated Engineer.

I studied robotics at the university of Plymouth. I continued and got the Masters (MEng). That set me up for a career in electronics.
