Making my reactor work! During my PhD, this was a critical piece of equipment as, without it, I couldn’t do any experiments. Unfortunately, it kept leaking and I had to use my technical skills to figure out where it was leaking from, why it was leaking and then how to fix it!

When I worked for NATO I led a team to deliver a new development aircraft containing an experimental radar for testing!

Trying to get the on call sheet (this sheet lets the engineers know who is covering which testbed around the world 24/7) issued on time on a Friday afternoon without any technical issues. Technical issues with network, happen occasionally and if they do I have to find a quick fix, usually by making second copies of the sheet or even a new one.

Having up to 1million users watch the UEFA champions league final in HDR as it took a lot of dedication and testing to ensure all the streams and devices were compatible.

I always find it really positive when I solve a problem that has really bugged me for a long time. In electronics things go wrong a lot, and it takes experience to find out the things that are going wrong, and fix them. It has happened a few times during my placement year when I was designing circuit boards. It is really satisfying to see something work because you fixed it!
