  The first prosthetic leg was made a few hundred years ago and well before I was born! I’m assuming it was very useful but also probably had a lot of problems. When they were first made, they weren’t fitted for individuals but you could get them mail order and there were no moving parts (think something like a pirate’s peg leg!)
