A very interesting question – not many people ask this one.
Sometimes it can be dangerous; however, I try to reduce the danger to an acceptable level.
When recreating an incident where a pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle, I tend to use traffic cones rather than people as we run through the “mechanics” of the incident!!!!!!
In some cases I have taken calculated risks, which might seem to be dangerous – going under the floor of a moving vehicle to listen to a component is probably something that I might not do now!!!
Once was enough!!!!!!
In the end, it is common sense (the cheapest and rarest commodity on the planet!!!!) that prevails – I assess the risks, and see what I can do to reduce the overall risk – will wearing crash helmet when I am driving reduce the risk of head injury?
In some respects, I must have been been getting it right, as I am still here!!!!!!!!!!
