No, not even close! I think there is so much more to learn still! One of my favorite physicists, Arnold Sommerfeld, was once quoted saying “Thermodynamics is a funny subject. The first time you go through it, you don’t understand it at all. The second time you go through it, you think you understand it, except for one or two small points. The third time you go through it, you know you don’t understand it, but by that time you are so used to it, so it doesn’t bother you any more.” He went on to make many important discoveries in physics and fluid dynamics. There is even an equation that is named after him!
I’m always looking to learn the next thing and to progress in my abilities as an engineer. The reason I resigned from my job at McLaren was that I had stopped learning new things – so I went back to university and learned some new things.
