Question: Out of all the machines you have helped make what machine have you enjoyed making the most?

I only started the role this year and so have only worked on one piece of equipment, called a stirred media mill, which is used to make particles smaller by breaking them. It is a big tank with a stirrer, which is filled with metal balls and a powder. When the stirrer is on, the beads bang together and break the powder particles into even smaller particles. Only 5% of the energy you put in is actually used to break the particles, so there are a lot of improvements that can be made, which makes it interesting since there is so much to do!
