My work involves research in to methods for cell growth and ways to improve it. Working in a university means i also get to teach people about growing cells.
My Typical Day: Teaching, training, experimenting and supervising students

My days are very varied and that is one of the best things about my job. In a typical day i may give a lecture on growing cells, teach a student how to use a piece of equipment and then spend some time discussing and planning more experiments with students. I also, often, get to take pieces of equipment apart for maintenance.

I would use the money to help start a STEM outreach project.
Not many people know about growing organisms outside of brewing so i am currently in the process of designing a low cost reactor for demonstrating purposes, the prize money would allow me to produce more of these reactors after they have been designed and take them in to schools to teach people about biological processes
