• Question: Could your creations potentially save lives?

      Probably. My robots are quite small, so the way they would be able to save lives would be by detecting that an individual is in danger and call the ambulance or police.

      I’d imagine so. One of the robots I am waiting for – Buddy by Blue Frog Robotics has an advertised function to monitor your house for any intruders, gas or water leaks and similar things. That would save lives, if things were to go wrong.

      Maybe not directly, but my robots are building cars that are more advanced than ever. They are packed full of safety features to help people in case of a car accident.

      By building cars with robots we can reduce the cost of making them, this means there is more money left to add more safety technology.

      That is what I am hoping.

      Right now I’m building a robot that can go into a dangerous situation, like a collapsed building or an avalanche and can search for people who are missing.

      It will then tell the rescue workers where the person is and they can come and save them.

      I should be finished my project over summer and hopefully in the next few years I can see it being used in the real world, not just in my lab.
