• Question: During your childhood did you want to become an engineer and had a passion for it or did it suddenly become a job and you never regret your decision.

      I was always into sciences, and slowly I got into engineering. First it was math, then programming, then engineering.

      For me it was always a dream. I watched a lot of science fiction as a kid, and my dad was an engineer. I wanted to be just like Samantha Carter from SG1, because she travelled the galaxy, defeating evil aliens, and she was the smartest person on the team and was an engineer and scientist.

      However, lots of my friends ended up in engineering by accident, and they all love it too 🙂 It’s a great job, and if you like math, or puzzles, or programming, or building things, or fixing things, or if you just like using cool technology, there is a career in engineering that will be just perfect for you.

      I haven’t given much thought about who I wanted to be all the way until the university. My father liked to tinker with electronics, and I was into science myself. Eventually I completed a degree in mathematics, and it is then, that I decided to go for robotics, as part of my PhD.

      Long story short, I wasn’t into engineering until I was 23 or so.
