I usually organise very interactive and fun session. They get to interact and program my robots, which all students I had to teach found it fun.

By using events like this one 🙂

Hands-on workshops work well as well, I would think.

I try and speak to them as much as possible.

Different groups, like schools charities or government group come to my workplace to ask for people to volunteer and I always say yes, that is how I ended up doing this cool competition!

I am also volunteering at the Edinburgh Science Festival, doing many different workshops aimed at young people, such as teaching them to code or showing them the cool robots we have at my work.

I also want to put a roadshow together so that I can visit rural school who don’t have access to universities nearby and so don’t get as many opportunities to see robots or meet engineers as kids who live in Edinburgh do.

I take part in cool events, like on Wednesday I am showing 3 different primary school groups of girls the work that I do and letting them see a dancing robot which I hope they will love 🙂

Do you have any ideas as to how we could encourage people like you? What do you think would be effective. Because it’s hard for adults to understand what young people thing is cool, or what they would like to know 🙂
