Well, officially for 4 and a half years, as that is when I started studying it at university.

I did a 4 year degree in computing and electronics engineering, which was learning about how to make electronic circuits and how to programme properly.

I hadn’t really done either of those things before I went to university to it’s ok if you haven’t either 🙂

Now I am studying a PhD which will allow me to become a Doctor (not the medical kind) and allows me 4 years to work on project that I choose.

However I was always interested in engineering projects when I was in school, like building toy kits and playing withe lego and meccano 🙂

Anyone can become an engineer or do some engineering, as it’s just a skill like any other 🙂

You can be an engineer now if you want, it’s just a case of being curious and trying things out.

From simple projects, like designing something simple that makes you life easier, such as recycling an old basket from a charity shop onto the front of your bike for extra storage, to bigger projects that take more time, like a home-made automatic dog/cat food dispenser to feed the pets.
