• Question: What development in engineering or technology would want you to stop engineering for good, if you would do such a thing? Such as robotics being used at the disadvantage of the society around them.

      If robots will be used at the disadvantage of the society, I will do whatever I can to change it. I do not think robots were designed for that. Robots were designed to be a companion and helper to humans, and using them against us would just defeat its purpose.

      That’s a tough question, given how many destructive technologies were made possible to date due to engineering efforts.

      I guess, if domestic robots were used to control people, like in the film “I, Robot”, I would question my work.

      I think there is always a good and bad side to everything.

      While technology has developed to make our lives easier than ever, it has the unfortunate side effect that means our weapons are more dangerous too. As engineers now and alongside the engineers of the future we need to make sure that there is a focus on developing technology responsibly and to stop people misusing it for all the wrong reasons.
