I would say when I started my PhD. I have a background in computer science and I had to learn control by myself. This was the biggest challenge I had to face until now.

My biggest problem was probably when we had a robot stop working in one of our big factories.

All the robots work together, so if one stops, the whole factory can stop which means our customer can’t make any cars

My job is to keep the customer up to date while our emergency team try to fix the issue and create a plan so it won’t happen again.

My last project we were facing quite a big problem and no one knew how to solve it. Not going into details we could not synchronise 2 redundant servers (and project deadline was approaching). We put so much effort and we failed – we had to reschedule delivery 🙁 fortunately our client wasn’t ready to install it anyway…

The problem was a size of database – system was so huge that it could simply not handle it. We had to re-do it again limiting data. Wasn’t rly my fault but it was a good lesson.

I guess the biggest problem for me right now is to keep up with all the new information about personal robotics that’s coming in – there’s just way too much of it.

Migrating between countries often ends up being a big task where many little things could go wrong.

From my days of working with IBM we had a problem similar to Mateusz’s, and it was a big challenge to find all the right people quickly, outside of working hours, and direct everyone to make sure the client got what they wanted.
