• Question: What's your favourite invention?

      Tough question! I want to say “electricity”, but vaccination and mathematics are up there too!

      Oh that is a really difficult question.

      I want to say the microprocessor (fancy word for a computer) because that is the one I like to play with the most.

      However clean drinking water, or medicines would be my favourite to have.

      It’s difficult to just choose one. But if would say the fountain pen. For loads of reasons. One of the reasons is that I absolutely love calligraphy.

      The other reason is because the one who revolutionised the “pen industry” was an inventor from my home country, Romania. His name was Petrache Poienaru and he was the first one to understand that air pressure plays a very important role in the flow of the ink. He even got a patent in 1827 for the invention of the first fountain pen.

      I think my favourite invention is the Internet.

      When I was little, it didn’t exist in the same way it does today. I was 15 when we got the internet at home and I was so excited!

      Imagine going back to a world without internet, no 24hr news or instant connection to people all over the world. I think the best inventions are the ones that become part of our lives before we even realize.
