Hi Jenelle. I decided to be a sales engineer when I was 24.
When I first became an engineer I worked in manufacturing support, helping to solve problems with machines, then I tried a little bit of software engineering and then I spent a couple of years as a design engineer. So I’d already tried out a few different types of engineering before I decided to work in sales.
I’ve been in my current job for 3 years now and really enjoy it, so I think I will stay in sales for at least another few years. The best part about being an engineer is that there is so much choice, I can always switch to something a little bit different if I get bored.
