As safety engineers we don’t often ‘find’ risks, we pretty much now what the risks of flying and working with aircraft are, the risk is just more or less risky depending on the aircraft you are in. We use something called ‘The Significant Seven’ which are seven risks that you need to analyse which ever aircraft you are designing these are:
Loss of control
Runway excursion
Controlled flight into terrain
Runway incursion
Airborne conflict
Ground-handling accidents
Fire (risk awareness and countermeasures)
These risks are pretty well understood and are also manageable. We always look to minimise these risk as much as we possibly can when designing aircraft.
So in answer to your question, none, I haven’t found any new risks, but that’s not say I wont as with new technology and new design comes new risks!
