I definitely do enjoy my job! There are some times where it can feel really tough, but it’s a great feeling when you get there in the end.
In terms of days of the week, I look forward to Wednesdays as we often have “Lunch and Learns”. This is where a workmate presents to the rest of the company at lunchtime on a particular engineering topic (e.g. a project they have done, or an area of interest), with the aim that everyone learns something new and broadens their knowledge :).
In terms of Monday mornings, I actually feel very lucky – I don’t get the same sort of dread that some of my friends get when they think about going back to work after a weekend.
That’s not to say that I like work better than weekends, or anything controversial like that (I’d be doing something wrong, as that time can be spent however I like!)… but I definitely have motivation to get up to go to work!
Monday mornings can be hard, but that’s because I really enjoy my weekends. Also nothing is ever that exciting at 6am! However, once I’m back into the swing of things I really enjoy my job, and do look forward to it. There are some days that are more exciting, I really enjoy client meetings as they are a good way to gauge how well you are doing you job – and gives you something to focus on.
I would be lying if I said I always looked forward to Mondays but in general I do, I do enjoy my everyday job, it is always a fresh challenge, i work on interesting projects, with interesting people, and most of all people appreciate the work I do for them which is what I think makes my work enjoyable.
The days I look forward to the most are when I get to meet with a new client, of get involved in some practical testing (I always preferred the practical aspects of science and engineering at school!)
