      Hi emby,

I got into my job, through my brother in law who got me a few interviews with defence contractors, I had done some safety work for him for my university project. I was working in an arcade in a holiday park in Devon at the time so I was ready to move anywhere.

After about my 4th interview I got a job with Thales UK in Wells Somerset on their graduate program and the rest is history.

I if I was giving advice I would say get a degree in an engineering related subject and apply to all the big Uk contractors (Thales, IBM, Aibus, Boeing, QinetiQ, Atkins and many more) and failing that go the apprenticeship route, you will learn more as an apprentice then you ever will as a graduate engineer (in my opinion)!

Good luck if you decide to get into engineering, I’ll look out for you as the next rising star!
