Question: How do you help the environment?

Hi Jessie,

The environment is actually part of the consideration of the safety engineer. As well as trying to protect human life, we are also trying to prevent environmental disasters and damage to plants and animal life. So we try to design aircraft with the minimum amount of hazardous materials, we try to increase fuel performance so we use up less fossil fuels, etc. We also try to think about how we will dispose of the aircraft when if reaches the end of its life, even when we are starting the design!
