• Question: What is engineering in your own words?

      Engineering is the urge to come up with new ideas, to look at the world with a fresh pair of eyes and think “How can I make this work better?”… then do it!

      I’ve had to change this a few times, but I’ve settled on:

      Thinking of new ideas, solving problems or finding efficiency and explaining how they can be put into practice.

      For me, engineering is using the world around and us and being creative in how best to improve our lives. However, I hope that we use the world in a sustainable manner – I think engineering should be more about working with the world rather than against it.
