      Hi!

      Interesting question. I wouldn’t say that I had any “ulterior motives” for becoming an engineer – just that it happens to also align with what I want out of a career!

      I knew that I liked maths, physics, communicating and being creative – and engineering seemed to tick all those boxes. I think that engineering is one of the few jobs that lets you use BOTH your science side (using maths, performing calculations) AND your creative side (designing solutions, coming up with new ways to do things better, or designing completely new things!).

      This is then supplemented by the fact that engineering is a a well-respected and exciting industry that gives you scope to work in many different sectors, and live around the globe – should you wish to! 😀

      No ulterior motives – apart from wanting a job I enjoyed.

      I really love how engineering makes a difference to people’s lives, and so hence why I was inspired to take up engineering. I also really enjoy problem solving, so engineering played to my strengths.
