      No I am not particularly interested planes myself or rockets for that matter as they are just launch vehicles that get us into space. From an engineering point of view space is more interesting because it is so completely different to what we are all use to. In space there is no air or gravity (well virtually none for an orbiting satellite) and out of the direct view of the sun temperatures become much colder than is possible on Earth. Added to that the sun produces high levels of radiation. Space is what you could call a “hostile environment”.
