• Question: do you think science should be compulsory to study at GCSE and why?

      It was compulsory at my school and I think it should be, being able to make a decision based on evidence is an important skill which science can provide. But if it is compulsory then we must strive to make the theory relevant and the subject exciting.

      It was for me, but I didn’t mind that. I think it should be based on the practice of making a hypothesis and testing it, so that people can figure out when someone was making a decision based on evidence. That might be more important now than ever, so perhaps something like that should be compulsory. It should be relevant to everyday life too as much as possible.
