Hi JessRocks 18, I have 1 A-level in Arts and Crafts, so not well. But I didn’t let that stop my dream of being an engineer. I just need a different way of learning, I did a foundation year at University on Engineering, it was a course of theory and practical application.
I did okay,
GCSE’s were all A,B or C
For A levels I did maths, physics and textiles (B,C,B)
For my degree, when for the first time I was studying exactly the field I wanted to , I got a 1st Class honours.
I have always achieved what I have needed to in order to keep pursuing the dream!
Honestly, I was (and am) a complete nerd. Classic science nerd. Maths was sometimes a struggle but I also found it was a way to calm my mind by A-level. Especially when my mum would not stop talking! It was a way to focus just on one thing, one logical step after the other. I also had many teachers for A-level maths which was pretty confusing, so I had to start going to lunchtime help sessions. I was pretty determined.
So I did pretty well. University was completely different though.
