Hi, I am currently part of the Monitor Coatings project team working on a project to coat the flight deck of the Royal Navy’s new Aircraft Carriers, the largest ever built for the Navy, which are capable of carrying up to forty aircraft. The ship is designed to operate the vertical and / or short take-off landing aircraft the F-35B. When the powerful F-35B engines are directed downwards onto the deck during a vertical landing, the gas wash of the engines would have damaged a traditional flight deck paint system. We have developed and apply a system which withstands the gas wash.

I am currently working on developing the textiles that will be used in the racing swim suits worn by athletes at the 2020 Olympic games.
The majority of my work at the moment is working with the textile mills to make specified fabric to hand over to the garment engineers

      Hi
I’m working on understanding why my new solar panels do the things they do. I’m trying to understand more about the materials so we know why sometimes they do one thing and sometimes to something else. I am being trained on some machines I need to use this week. I’m also writing a big report about my project.
