My main priorities when starting a project is to set an aim and how I will try to meet that aim. I always set a key activities, a timeline and budget so I have something to monitor progress against. It is important to understand what you are trying to achieve and how.

To plan out what I need to learn along the way. I also need to look at what other people have done and learn from them. Also be realistic in how long it will take to achieve certain aims.

My priority is to understand the problem, set a goal and identify a way to reach this goal. Ideally, it all goes smoothly at the first shot. In real life it need lots of works and interactions with your clients because sometimes objectives change, so it is important to stay focussed on the goal and the way to achieve it.
