Question: why did you put inventing in quotation marks ?

Emma, the word invention could mean many things. Something quite unique, or something that is comprised of different separate items that when joined together, make the invention. I would also comment that the basis of most if not all of the technology that we see today, was created or discovered sometime between 1805 and 1917 ! I would include things like computers, lasers, genetics.
