Hi Toni, I belive one of the biggest obstacles to getting people into engineering is the lack of visibility of the different areas and careers in engineering. If you don’t know it exists how can you want to do that job. So I want to let students meet engineers and see the different jobs they do. Secondly I think people are put off engineering because it is hard to see the practical application of maths and science in a useful way (they also think it’s boring), so I want to do a practical task like showing them how to programme a robot and it relation to maths and science, so they can try engineering and see the practical applications. Good question, have a nice weekend.
Thanks, but as of myself not being good or interested in maths, could engineering still be a career option for me and others like me. Also…you got my vote 😉
Hi, Yes of course it could be. I failed Maths A-level, the foundation year I studied helped put maths into an easier and more practical format. Ariel Waldman studied Art she works at NASA and is a huge influence on space projects. Thank you for your vote, means alot.
