• Question: Did you have trouble finding a career you wanted to be when younger?

      That’s a good question. I have definitely been unsure of what I wanted to do, and had to work it out by trial and error. I did work experience when I was at school and then some summer internships when I was at university that helped me to decide – some of them I really enjoyed, and some I didn’t enjoy so much! I learned that finding out I didn’t like a job wasn’t a bad thing, as it meant I learned more about what I was interested in and could rule out some career options that weren’t for me.

      Similar to Hester, I didn’t really know what I wanted to be when I was younger. I really enjoyed my science classes but I didn’t really think I would become a scientist or engineer until I tired it out. I applied to student research positions and internships and tried out a couple of different things. It was a really good way for to figure out what I didn’t like studying especially! Eventually I started working on a project that studied asteroids and rocky bodies and I found that I really enjoyed studying planets.
