Question: Do you/how do yo test your instruments once you have made them?

We do loads of different tests on several versions of our instruments before we send them into space! We shake them around really hard, we make them very hot and very cold, we put them in a chamber and suck out all the air, just to name a few. These tests are all to make sure that they’ll survive the launch and then still work while zooming through space for years.
