Yes. I had a university professor who once told me I shouldn’t have scored the same on an exam as a male classmate because I’m a girl. (!!!) There have been a few times when someone assumed I was, for instance, a secretary rather than an engineer.
I have never had any problems with this luckily, as it would have made the person lose my respect instantly. There is a lot of work at the moment to encourage women to pursue careers in science and engineering. The way I see it science/engineering/the truth does not care what your gender is. I have never felt any conscious bias against me, and have only had support from people that I have met and tutored me. That said when I was at university I would guess 80% of my class mates were male, but that never really seemed a problem to me, and both of the top scoring ones in my year were female!
