      At the moment it’s a flock of squawking parakeets outside my bedroom window in the cherry tree.

      Coffee, my three-year-old, knowing that there is a never-ending set of interesting problems to solve awaiting me as soon as I turn on my computer, my five-year-old, my cat, and more coffee.
