• Question: On a day-to-day basis, what do u love most about your job; what makes you get out of bed in the morning?

      I really enjoy being able to help people so the fact that I am able to do that most days in my job really motivates me.

      I love being part of a team who create these awesome instruments that will one day be sent to space and find out really important information for the future of humanity!
      I do find it really hard to get out of bed because I love sleep and hate mornings but I know that I need to get up because I don’t want to let my team down… Also if I don’t do the things I am responsible for in time, then the whole mission could be delayed and this would cause lots of problems for many people!

      I really enjoy working on exciting future human spaceflight projects including the European Robotic Arm, which will help astronauts to carry out spacewalks and install new parts of the ISS. Working at the European Space Agency is also fantastic, and I work with a really international team. The future of human spaceflight also looks really great and we’re planning lots of amazing missions for the next generation to be involved in – including the Lunar Gateway – a new mini space station in lunar orbit which is 1000 times further away than the ISS. It’ll enable humanity to explore deep space – a human outpost in the lunar vicinity enables the next step for humanity, a Gateway that will serve as a way station for exploring the surface of the Moon.
