Training the cosmonauts (Russian astronauts) and their instructors on how to operate the European Robotic Arm from onboard the International Space Station has been fantastic – it will help astronauts to carry out spacewalks and install new parts of the ISS. I’m also really excited for the future of human spaceflight and we’re planning lots of amazing missions in the team that I’m in for the next generation to be involved in – including the Lunar Gateway – a new mini space station in lunar orbit which is 1000 times further away than the ISS. The Gateway will enable humanity to explore deep space and serve as a human outpost in the lunar vicinity – enabling the next step for humanity – and as a way station for exploring the surface of the Moon.
