      Yes they are. It is interesting to ask to retired and veteran engineers how many women were in their class and compare it with today engineering gender distribution. Back in the day 98% to 100% of student were men, when I was in university we were about 70% men.

      At the moment, in the UK, 9% of engineers are women. I think over the next decade, this number will increase.
