In a sun synchronous orbit, a satellite has the same angle of sunlight on the surface of the earth. It is typically used in earth observation, if you want to track changes at the surface of the earth. The inclination may vary a lot depending on the altitude. Typical altitude may be 700-800 km. It is difficult to maintain a satellite into a sun synchronous orbit.
