A lot of efforts have been made and are still being made by the international community to limit the use of nuclear power to civil use, and the production of electricity, the use of radiation in medicine, and in industrial applications. There are many international treaties preventing the proliferation of nuclear technology and its possible use for military purpose. And the use of nuclear technology is really strictly controlled.
