Rockets are taken very seriously and a lot of safety measures are put in place to limit the risks of a rocket falling. The largest risk for the rocket to go wrong is at take off, therefore these take off sites are very carefully designed far away from people. The rocket path is studied so that any damage should be limited. If the rocket is already in space, when the pieces fall back, they normally burn in the atmosphere at re-entry. Maybe you can join a team of engineers working on improving all rocket safety!?
