Hi Abi, I’m writing this answer to you at 05:36!! So I like to get up around 5am so i can start the day with my fab dog Jupiter. But it’s a great time of day for me because everyone else is asleep so i can just let me brain wake up without having to solve any problems.

What I like about these early mornings is it gives me time to think about the great things that happened yesterday, come up with possible answers to problems I’ve been working on and – quite importantly – make a simple plan of what I’m going to do during the day. Without Anyone Interrupting Me! 🙂

Hi, I normally get up around 6.30am and start work around 7.45am. I am lucky in my job that I can work flexible hours so I can start anytime before 9.30am and finish work anytime after 4pm as long as I get all my work done. I prefer to start early so I have lots of time in the evenings to do my hobbies.

I am usually waking up around 08.30 and aim to be at the office at 09.00. This time is a perfect balance between me being too tired (lazy?) to wake up and get up to look into interesting engineering problems again.

That time seems to be a perfect fit, in line with my colleagues. It gives me sufficient sleep while still giving me a big day to enjoy!

I am a morning person so if I am going to the office I like to wake up around 5.30am -when I work from home, I stay in bed for 30 more minutes or so.

I love this time! My favorite thing is to go for a walk before I sit down in front of my computer and I prefer to do that before the town gets too busy.

I don’t have a fixed time to start working, so occasionally I wake up a bit later if I feel too tired the day before 🙂

      Hi Abi,

It can really vary for me what time I wake up, I work from home most of the time so I can decide what time as it’s mostly flexible with the work I do. If I have a deadline for something I might wake up at 5/5.30am and sometimes it could be 8.30/9am if I worked late the night before. My standard working hours though are 8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 9-12am on a Friday. I have other commitments in the evenings 3 nights a week too which keep me up late so having the flexibility with start and finish times is really useful!
