I help manage big roads projects like building dual carriageways.
Most of our work is for the government, who ask us to design and manage their road projects to make sure they get good value for money and a quality road at the end of the project.
Sometimes I work in the office doing design, writing reports and meeting with clients or contractors. sometimes I work on site, making sure everything is being done safely and correctly.
-
My Typical Day: I get to site at 8am, have a daily briefing and then drive around the site in my site vehicle, recording the progress of all the construction work that is going on and taking notes. I have lunch back at the site office and then do some paperwork in the afternoon.

I go to inspections, check that everything is being built correctly and make sure everyone is safe.
I have lunch back at the site office and then do the same again in the afternoon. I also write reports, analyse the progress being made and check the design.
