    I'm a 32 year old Chartered Engineer working for an automotive supplier

    I live in Maidstone, Kent, with my wife and 2 children (5 and 1), and my cat Maggie.

  • My Work

    I lead a team which tests car, bus and lorry engine parts to make sure the engine won't break down.

  • My Typical Day: I arrive at the office between 7:30 and 8am, start by checking for any emails that have come in that night, and then normally have 1 or 2 meetings with some engineers at our factory in China. Then I speak to my team, look at their work with them, and have some lunch. In the afternoon, I might go and take apart some pumps, have a look under a microscope for any damage, and make some presentations with my findings.

      Having an idea to fix a problem, testing it and having it in production on JCB engines now

      What or who inspired you to follow your career?

      I was always interested in how things work, building models and taking things apart

      Computing

      An F1 engineer

      What is the most fun thing you've done?

      Desiging and building a racing car at university and competing with it at Silverstone

      If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!

      To have a garage with a lift so I can get under my car more easily, my own plane (with the skill to fly it) and a big country house with a racing simulator set-up
