    I live in Aberdeen – just moved permanently to Aberdeen after 4 years of working offshore on oil rigs.

    In my spare time I do spinning classes, hiking and if I can I will try to attend a ballet class if my schedule permits!

    I worked offshore as a Well Engineer to get Oil and Gas out of the ground – except where I work we get it from below the sea. Once the Oil and Gas is out of the ground; it goes to a plant where it is split into different things which can be used for different products. Some of these make plastics, others run your car, some power aeroplanes and others heat/power homes.

    Now I work on land in an office designing how we will get the Oil & Gas out of the ground.

  • My Typical Day: I go to work between 7:00 - 8:00am. I then do meetings, mathematical calculations, oversee projects (like a project manager). I get home between 5:30-6:30pm (though this has changed with lockdown).

      Worked on an Oil Rig offshore and solved problems

      What or who inspired you to follow your career?

      I met a friend of the family who was an Engineer at a Wedding and thats how I learned about Engineering.

      What was your favourite subject at school?

      Chemistry and Geography

      What did you want to be after you left school?

      I was so undecided when I was at school what I wanted to do.

      Were you ever in trouble at school?

      At times!

      If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?

      I would probably study law or business strategy then go into another role where I get to solve problems.

      Pasta
