• Question: do you have to be good at physics?

      It’s certainly a good start – one of the most important things to understand in Physics is the way forces are distributed.

      That’s a key part of engineering because you have to make sure that your design can transmit and withstand the forces that you are putting into it.

      I agree with Steve you certainly need to understand physics, however to baseline “Good” you’ll need at least a C in GCSE Physics and normally at least a B if you’re going to continue on to A Levels.

      You don’t necessarily have to be great at it, but you should have a good basic understanding of the main aspects e.g. forces… as these pretty much effect all engineers. I never did a physics A level but managed to get an apprenticeship 🙂

      Not necessarily. Obviously some of the jobs or Uni require good grades in Physics fromA-levels but it is not only about physics – there are other subjects that you need to think about if you consider career in engioneering. Also there are soft skills like: team work, your motivation and determination and problem solving that count! It is very rarely that you will have the whole pakage! 🙂
