Hi Hannah! I am still in training. I started my apprenticeship last year in September and I will be finishing next year in the summer. Tbh being an engineer is similar to being a doctor – you always learn to keep up with the new technologies or new way of approaching things – which I think makes it a lot more interesting than just doing the same task over and over again.
To give you a bit more details about an apprenticeship I am doing – it is sth like a sponsored degree where an employer pays for your Uni fees, pays you a salary on top of that and gives you an opportunity to gain work experiance in the mean time. Which for me is a win-win deal! We get a chence to do a lot of training and sometimes even travel abroad! There are also opportunities to support events like the one this week – Big Bang Event in Birmigham which I can’t support due to being at Uni tomorrow 🙂 I hope this helps! Thanks for the question !:)
