      Hi Cooly790,

I started playing the drums when I was around 10 so I spent a good chunk of my childhood learning that and playing in loads of different bands. I also used to go out on the motorbike with my dad a lot, I got my own for the first time when I was 14 and I used to ride it in the field around our house.

Riding that bike, taking it to bits, learning how it worked and then putting it back together again was what really inspired my passion for Engineering.

So my best advice is look at what you enjoy doing and find a career which matches it, but particularly one where there are jobs available.

      Huw 🙂

I enjoyed learning about lots and lots of different things. The more things you have a go at, and look into, the more likely you are to find something that you really enjoy doing. And hopefully one of those things becomes the foundation of whatever career you decide to follow.

When I was really young (about 4-9) I attended a lot of Performing Arts type classes. I was also a Brownie at a very young age and I did Taekwondo for a brief period. I grew up going on camping holidays which means I really loved the outdoors! When I got to secondary school I joined the scouts where again I had more outdoors experience. After scouts I joined the air cadets – where I took part in various activities such as shooting, flying, first aid and MORE camping. I think all of this outdoors experience left me wanting a career that wasn’t a 9-5 office job, that allowed me to travel, and where I could work and appreciate the outdoors – which is why I am here now 😛

I loved playing outside with other kids! – I have the best memories from that time. 🙂 I also like spending time with my dad at the garage and help him fixing cars. He thaught me a lot and he was my first inspiration to get into engineering 🙂
