I’ve always prided myself on my ability to notice details and patterns which are often overlooked by others. It can help me when conducting an analysis and give me extra information or allow me to spot mistakes. Otherwise I find it really helpful when dealing with other people, spotting small things like their stress level or changes in their tone of voice can really help when you’re trying to be persuasive.
I’m a bit like Huw in this respect – I have an eye for detail.
It’s not always an asset though – sometimes I’m not happy when small details are wrong that most other people can’t see, but I’ll go out of my way to correct them.
I have to be totally satisfied that the job I’ve done is absolutely the best it can be, otherwise I can’t let it rest.
My strongest asset is probably the fact that I am able to public speak. Being able to confidently communicate your ideas in front of big groups of people can prove difficult! This is quite an important skill in engineering, and it makes you stand out if you’re good at it 😀
I think my strongest asset is that I am a people person – I maintaine good relationship with my collegues and always offer my help to others, this also links with having good communication skills which is very important – as you can see it is not a technical skill at all! 🙂 And because I have very outgoing personality – it helps with gaining the technical knowledge 🙂
