• Question: why should we give you the money, think of ways that no-one else could think of

      Good Question Michael!
      There are a lot of interesting opportunities that the money can be spent on. I would like to organise flying experiance! for the school who had the most involvement in this year’s ‘I’m an Engineer Get me Out of Here’ with potential visit to the Airport and Airbus to show you the ‘office engineers’ in action and the job of maintenance engineers because I belive that the best way to learn is through experiance.

      So this is my idea, but I haven’t decided yet . I’m counting on you guys to suggest how the money can be spent! What would you like us to do with it? 🙂

      Oooo a tough one!

      I really want to show people the things that inspired me and nothing can do this better than a day out to London – which hosts some of the worlds best examples of architecture and civil engineering!

      I feel like I should give something back to the people that made me who I am, by inspiring the budding engineers of the local area! I want to host a BIG competition at local schools – which don’t usually have the funds to do trips like this. The students will have to prove to me that they have an interest in engineering and the built environment, by coming up with solutions to global issues such as flooding or earthquake management, or preparing for population increase!

      Hopefully this will raise awareness for issues that the engineering community currently face, creating discussions and debates among classes – and in turn sparking interest in these fields! 🙂

      I think that by spending the money to buy new and better science equipment for local schools this will help inspire many more young people than a one off event or trip. I want to get the message out to as many people as possible that STEM subjects are really exciting and the best way of doing that is by showing them the incredible things you can do with a little knowledge and by getting your hands dirty.

      So, I want to offer the money to the school which can show that investing in some new experimental equipment will really help their pupils to learn and understand scientific principles and give science the Wow factor it deserves.

      I’d like to help a school buy a 3D printer and then spend the time showing them how you can use it to it’s full potential.
