I think robots will continue to be part of our lives in the future probably more so as they are developed. Robots are used a lot in engineering disciplines. For example I once visited the Jaguar Landrover factory what makes some of their cars and there are lots of really cool robots there. Despite there being roles for robots there will always be jobs for humans in that type of environment too as there are still lots of things they can’t do and sometime they stop working properly too.
Absolutely! and the present too! but not in a way that they will replace human life (or will ever achieve human life). They are tools and machines that we have invented for our own needs. For example, they have helped reducing time of manufacturing of cars, constructions, assembly of items, even baking!
Also, thanks to robots, we have been able to explore the space at planets that would otherwise kill us! Or finding bombs/mines and deactivating them on war zones. So yes, robots are the future and the present but as tools to help us humans do things quicker and better!
There’s no denying that robots are increasing in number, i have to scan my own shopping in Tesco now! but there will always be jobs for people. In manufacturing machines have takes the jobs that many people used to do, but engineers are needed to design these machines and fix them when they stop working.
Robotics is an interesting field and there will be some really exciting things happening in the future. If you like the round of robotics you should look into the Raspberry Pi, it’s a small computer that costs just £20 and can be programmed to do any number of things! This would be a great start for a budding engineer.
I think robots are certainly going to play a big part in the future, but there has been a lot of talk about where the upper limit of what they can do should be.
Its a tough one, but as long as they help or serve a purpose (primarily for those in need) then that is the best thing.
