Good question and honestly I didn’t start appreciating the value in education until university. Neither of my parents went to university. My dad only got his third level education at 50 years old. You’re never too old to learn !
I don’t think I appreciated how good school was until leaving, similar to Todd, but I did really enjoy it while I was there. I was lucky enough to be head boy in upper sixth form, but apart from that was an average joe, never top of the class, never bottom.. but I had loads of support available if I needed it.
University is amazing too though, and actually, being an adult is pretty good – you just have to pay out more money!
